More Fabulous Prizes
Working with a casino is a blast – for the simple reason that a casino might be the most textbook example of a “parity” product that I can think of. Walk into any casino in the world: you got slots, blackjack, poker, some hotel rooms, a band playing, a steakhouse – you get the idea. All the magic comes from the creative – from the design of the felt on the tables, to the theme of the architecture, to the comps, perks and of course, the prizes players can walk away with. For Chumash Casino Resort, we came up with a way to drive signups for their loyalty program by offering a huge, members-only quarterly drawing, and getting the regulars talking by parking themed prizes that were worth talking about right by the front doors.

These progressive-jackpot giveaways were not only a marketing, but an operational idea for Chumash Casino Resort. The life-sized Maserati "Toy" box received earned media in the Santa Maria Times and the property saw a marked increase in loyatly program signups. Once per quarter (at promotion end) the casino promoted "big drawing" nights which saw overall one-day gaming revenues in the tens of millions.
