A Perfect Match.
The multi-state Powerball and Mega Millions games offer the biggest jackpots in the lottery world. But until 2010, each state could only offer players one or the other. When the restriction was lifted, states rushed to adopt both. The opportunity was to offer players twice the chances at nine-figure prizes. The challenge was to keep the the games from cannibalizing one another. Our strategy for the Arizona Lottery was to bundle them at retail, while letting players know that together, they're the perfect match.

The weekly Powerball/MegaMillions bundle succeeded, increasing existing Powerball sales and contributing to a revenue increase for the Arizona Lottery, totaling $250m annually.
